I just wanna know everything, my Lord,
I just wanna know it all.
Birds and fish and creeping things,
Knowing is my call.
I just wanna know everything my Lord,
Reality in all it’s parts,
Science, reason, law, and language,
History, and all the arts.
Teach me how to know, my Lord,
Teach me how to know.
What do I do to know what’s true,
Which way am I to go?
You answered me with written word
And from it wisdom and knowledge assured:
“The answer, my son, is reverence.
To know the soul
and the world and all,
To Me you must show deference.”
